After an hour’s drive, we arrive in GHENT and visit St Bavo’s Cathedral, home of the world famous late medieval “Mystic Lamb” painting (optional visit, closed on Sundays).
During the city tour you will see all important ancient buildings for which the city is so famous: the Belfry, St Nicholas’ Church and the famous Graslei with its historic buildings, the fortified castle of the Count of Flanders.
Next we take you to BRUGES, where we first visit the dreamy Lake of Love and the beguinage where you can find peace and quiet. Time for lunch.
Afterwards we start our walking tour and discover all the highlights of the city: Saint John’s Hospital, Our Lady’s Church with the statue by Michelangelo (optional), the Market Square with the Belfry and the medieval Chapel of the Holy Blood. Don’t forget your walking shoes though! You can also enjoy an optional but ever so nice boat tour along Brughes’ picturesque canals.
- Guided Day Trip to Dinant and Luxembourg:
Depart Brussels in the morning and travel by bus to Luxembourg City. Pass the beautiful city of Dinant on the shores of river Meuse, a city well-known for its music, history and beer, where you will have some free time to enjoy the city on your own.
Continue the trip to Luxembourg to discover Place d'Armes, founded by the Spanish in 1671, where you can soak up the lively ambiance of its typical restaurants and cafés. Venture down a famous passage to reach Luxembourg City Hall on Place Guillaume II, and then continue to the 17th-century Notre-Dame Cathedral in the heart of the Ville Haute. Explore the old town, the lookout in Chemin de la Corniche and experience the magical quartier of Grund. Get some free time to shop, eat and explore at your own pace before the bus trip back to Brussels.
