- What to Bring: Heavy down jacket, thermal layers (tops and bottoms), waterproof hiking jacket and pants, sturdy broken-in hiking boots, a -10°C rated sleeping bag (huts have mattresses, but you need your own bag), and a 30L daypack with a rain cover.
- Nice to Have: High-SPF sunscreen, polarized sunglasses, lip balm with SPF, trekking poles to save your knees on the long 20 km descent on Day 7, a headlamp with extra batteries for the midnight Kibo summit push, energy gels or comfort snacks, and plenty of wet wipes for quick refreshes in the huts.
