Popeye Village Malta has grown from its days as a film set of the 1980 musical production ‘Popeye’ into one of the major tourist attractions on the Maltese islands, filled with several colourful fun activities for all young and young at heart. Open all year round, we guarantee an enjoyable visit for all our guests.

Throughout the year, special themed seasonal events and decorations are also available at the village; these events and adornments are usually held during the Christmas, Carnival, Easter, and Halloween periods.

The Popeye Village

Roam around the whole village and appreciate the 40+ year-old structure still in its original glory. Visit Popeye’s house and take pictures in the sailor’s nook.

Make your way to the school, the firehouse, the dentist shop, and the baker—all of which are depicted clearly in the 1980 musical movie Popeye.

Get to know more about the movie and the building of the film-set in the very detailed 15-minute documentary showing continuously in the cinema.

While you are there, do not forget to collect your free postcard. Then make your way to Popeye’s comic museum, to see all the memorabilia that has been collected throughout the years.

► Summer Package (From The 1st Of June Till The 5th Of November):

• Water Inflatable Obstacle Course: Jump your way on our inflatables while bathing in the crystal-clear waters of Anchor Bay.

• Anchor Bay Lido: Relax during a very hot Maltese summer day whilst making use of the Bedouin beds, sun umbrellas, sun decks, bathing areas, a big inflatable obstacle course, and splash pool.

• Play Pool (8 Years and Under): Allow your children to enjoy their Popeye Village experience in our covered Play pool, where the little ones can enjoy the slides under the watchful eye of their parents. Sun beds, sun umbrellas, and showers are all situated around the play pool.

• Take 2 Filming: Be part of a cast and become movie stars for one day by staring in an actual movie. From plotting the scenes to rehearsals to costume-picking and the actual filming, you and your friends will have a blast and mimic the lives of your Hollywood idols. At the end of the stay, you will visit our cinema to experience the premiere of your very own movie. Copies of this epic thriller can be purchased after the preview! Please be aware that ample chuckles and numerous shots are a guarantee!

• Animation Shows: Meet Popeye, Olive Oyl and all their friends during the most enjoyable and ever-so-amusing animation shows that are continuously going on in the village as well as by the bay, including Zumba, splash dance, and a beach party too.

• Silver-Smith Demonstrations: Get a glimpse of how traditional Maltese silver filigree is created. Appreciate this authentic jewellery-making as a part of Maltese culture that has been handed down from one generation to the next. The purchase of this work of art is also available.

• 9-Hole Mini-Golf: End your day at the village by bringing out the Tiger Woods in you. Participate in a golf tournament and try to take home the victory of a 9-hole mini-golf session. This will surely be a good exercise to demonstrate your skills.
